A Connecticut-made root beer I bought while on vacation in Minnesota. The label is truly unique. I don’t think I have seen another soda label like this one, which is saying a lot. After looking at the label, I noticed that this one has a lot more ingredients than the usual root beer. Also, it’s a diet root beer but has 5 grams of sugar and “less than 2” calories. I have had Hosmer Mountain root beer and sarsaparilla several times before and always enjoyed it, so I’m hoping I will like this one too. The taste is decent as far as diet root beer goes. It’s drinkable and everything you can really hope for in a diet root beer. But it’s not the best diet root beer I’ve ever had.

I have had Johnnie Ryan’s non-diet root beer before, but I cannot remember how it tasted at all. I plan on having that one again to review it here. The bottle for the diet one is really cool. First off, it’s only 11.5 ounces, which makes it slightly irregular—always a plus for my collection. Second, there isn’t the usual label, rather, it is embossed onto the bottle, which I like a lot. It has dual languages, another quality I don’t usually find. Upon opening the bottle, there is no head at all. The taste is pretty good for a diet root beer. I actually like it quite a lot. If I had to go with diet root beer again, this one would be near the top of the list.

I have had Iron Horse root beer many times. It is quite common around the Twin Cities since it is made in Edina. However, I have never even seen their diet root beer before this, making this a great find for me. This is my first review of a diet root beer and I expect the ratings will be lower in general for diet root beers because they just aren’t as good as regular root beers. This one is pretty good though. It has a creamy taste to it and isn’t disgusting. It has a good aftertaste. All in all, this is a good diet root beer if that’s what you’re looking for.

This is not good at all. I didn’t seek this one out or even buy it myself. I was given two cans of this and tried them about two months apart. I wasn’t able to finish either can, which is not a good sign. I have never been a fan of the organic sodas because they are always disgusting. And this one is no different. Avoid this drink at all costs. It barely even tastes like root beer.
